PREPARING FOR GACTE 2014 CONFERENCE REGISTRATION

Please read the information below carefully before beginning the registration process:
ACTE/GACTE Membership must be current at the time of registration in
order to qualify for the member rate and must not expire before 7/31/14.
Prior to the opening of conference registration,
all ACTE/GACTE members will receive an e-mail from Showcare with your ACTE
membership number and your expiration date.
You must have your membership number when you register. If you do not receive the e-mail, please
check your SPAM folder. You can also
find your ACTE membership number on the mailing label of TECHNIQUES, the
publication you receive monthly from ACTE.
If your membership is expired or is expiring
before 7/31/14, you can pay your dues with your conference registration or pay
them online at www.acteonline.org. Please do not send your ACTE/GACTE membership
dues directly to GACTE.
Please remember it takes 7-10 days for ACTE to
process your membership. You cannot join one day and have a current
membership in the system the same day or the next day.
If your dues
are not current through 7/31/14 at the time of the conference, you will have to
pay dues before you can receive conference registration materials.
FOCUS ON PARTNERSHIPS
On Monday afternoon, general interest sessions will focus on successful
business partnerships that schools and businesses all over Georgia are engaging
in. There will be sessions of interest
for all program areas. A list of these
sessions is on the GACTE website at http://www.gacte.org/page.asp?pg=Conference%20Program. In order to accommodate the interests of all
conference attendees, you must pre-register
for these sessions. Please be sure to
check the list carefully and be sure that you select the sessions that are of
most interest to you. Rooms will be
assigned based on the number of participants that choose each session.
This year the sessions on Tuesday will be organized by Pathways and
Position Type for those who are not teaching in a pathway (i.e. Work-Based
Learning, Counseling and Career Development, Special Populations, and
Administrative Leadership). Please be

This year, in order to accommodate dietary needs, you will be able to
select the type of Boxed Lunch (Chicken Caesar Salad, Grilled Turkey Sandwich, Roast Beef Sandwich, Grilled Vegetable Wrap) you want on Monday and Tuesday. Please select carefully as there will be no
way to make changes to your choices once you arrive at the conference.
Please do not make a choice for the Awards Banquet on Tuesday night if
you do not plan to attend. Space is
limited. All those ordering a ticket
will be accommodated, but if you order a ticket and do not come, you are
wasting a meal. Meal options are chicken, roast beef, or vegetarian.
DIVISION BREAKFAST/CTSO UPDATE
Wednesday morning’s breakfast will be organized by
divisions/affiliates. Please choose the
correct division/affiliate if you plan to attend the Wednesday morning
breakfast. If you do not plan to attend, please do not register for a ticket.
This year GACTE will have a mobile app for the conference program. There will also be a downloadable pdf file of
the conference program available on the website at the beginning of the
conference. There will be printed
programs available as well. Please
indicate on your conference registration whether or not you want a printed
program or if you will use one of the electronic resources.
When you register for GACTE 2014, be sure to select YES to receive CEU Credit for the conference. You will need to enter your CTAERN Password on the registration form.
At the conference, there will be scanning devices in each meeting room
that accommodates over 30 people. You
will receive a coded id card included with your conference registration
materials. Be sure to scan your card in
each session you attend. After the
conference, you will receive a link to an evaluation form for each session you
attended. If you attend a session in a
small meeting room, be sure to make a note of the Session ID. You will be able to add these and/or missing
sessions to your online evaluation form.
Evaluations must be completed by September 15. When you complete the evaluation, you can print
out a pdf file that verifies your attendance at the conference. After September 15, a list of all attendees
who completed their evaluation form and indicated that they wanted to earn
CEU’s for the conference will be forwarded to CTAERN. Your credit will appear on your CTAERN record
by October 15.
