According to the Georgia Department of Education, Georgia is at the top among Southeastern States in 2014 ACT results, outperforming others like Louisiana, North Carolina and Alabama. Scores in all four subject areas increased, which includes English, reading, math and science. The number of Georgia high school students that take the ACT has increased by 29 percent since 2010.

Dr. John Barge, Georgia State School Superintendent, states in the article that “our students’ performance continues to rise on the ACT, and that’s important to us because it’s a nationally comparative measure of their readiness for college.”
